So where are we Dave with this stuff? Since the Sombra went away, have we got a reciever worth its salt? Is the WFLY reciever the suggested replacement?

        Yes!

In spite of my initial negative evaluation of the WFly receiver ... which was WRONG -- I had not figured that the damned thing had default 'zero' settings on all channels, so I could not get it to play nice with the ADF2 -- it is an ideal receiver for our use: small of foot-print (once you yank it out of its plastic case and stick it in some heat-shrink tube); the channel fail-safe points are easily programmed into it just using the transmitter (thank you, Tom, for teaching me that trick ... which changed EVERYTHING!); is very selective; is cheap; and is readily available.

Not to jump too far ahead, but when you have multiple subs, you can kick it up a notch by adding a crystal-less module

The Futaba is nice because you can change the frequency with out removing the module. The Hitec has the settings on the side.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Sorry, in advance, but this is a bit "off topic", however it does deal with the WFly 6-channel receiver!

In surfing-the-net, I came across this: WFly FRP06_P receivers for what looks to convert from Chinese Yuan-to-USDollar
                for 17 bucks!!! Helluva deal!! (105 Yuan = 17USD)

Hey, Mike!! Suck up a bunch of these bad boys!!!!

I may just cash in on a couple right now!!

Why does it show such a short antenna wire?

                        Ya got me, Greenman407!!

                        Two possibilities: 1 - It's a new,"state-of-the-art" microwave type antenna, or
2 - The guy whut took the pitcher is a dumbass????

Thanks trout, taking Davids advice on just gettingthe normal wiring done first. But as i build out the tower and the rest of the sub what areas do/should i precut out to make room for lightining on the sub. Refering to the lights you had done on your gato Trout
