Is the plume of water coming out the flood holes due to gravity or compressed air pushing it out?Make it simple, make strong, make it work!Comment

If you are refering to red hull paint you can see by Googling and looking at "Emergency Blow" pictures of US nuke subs they all look like the same boat from a different angle but none have red showing.Comment

compressed air and gravity and the natural outside the hull seawater displacement when breaking the surface. Think anyone got slammed when it flopped on top? Its not as smooth as steping off an escalator, I GaronteeLast edited by Von Hilde; 04-09-2014, 07:14 AM.Comment

Thats most likely the case. But on the otherhand we do have dolphins and sealions being trained by Naval Special Warfare for covert ops. The Navy was forced to move the Key West Operational facility due to the "Tree Huggers" snivelin about dolphins in captivity in the Keys and sneaking around and releasing some in local tourest attractions and attempting to get on base. Navy just got a C-17 and packed em all up and went west one eveing, and that was that. Those anamals can do some amazing things. And those things are only the ones they want anybody to know about.Comment

In the early 70's on the WEBSTER, tied up to our Tender in Guam, we were told not to fall over the side (an important consideration to we TM's as most of us worked deck during pre-deployment) or one of the 'Flippers' (penned in a barge anchored in the harbor) would shove a bang-stick up our ass. I assume they have been used for asset protection for many, many decades now. Sea lion's were being evaluated for torpedo recovery at Keyport while I was there in the late 60's.

Ahh, the spoiled rotton know nothing college kids. Sounds like a bunch of junior grade Zeros Ive run across during my illustrious Naval carrear. Got the Diploma hangin on the wall to prove that their smata dan youins. I could never grasp the "hangin the certificates of merrit" on the wall. Except for my Honorable Discharge, that hangs on the bathroom wall in front of the toilet, that I look at every morning.
