Yes, and that being said, Im not sure if I ever mentioned that I am a commercial artist and "been there done that" so if anyone is interested in having a rendition of their personal favorite boat, model or otherwise, painted in any sceene, I can do it. If you would like to see samples of my work, you can e mail me for sample pictures and details.

Yes, they were the two of the class. Preceded the DREADNOUGHTs and were folloed by the CHURCHILLs.

                    Career

Snapper spent most of her career in home waters. She was mistakenly attacked by a British aircraft when returning to Harwich after a patrol in the North Sea. Although suffering a direct hit, Snapper escaped damage. She went on to sink the small German tanker Moonsund, the German merchant Florida, the German auxiliary minesweepers M 1701 / H. M. Behrens and M 1702 / Carsten Janssen, the German armed trawler V 1107 / Portland and the Norwegian merchant Cygnus. She also attacked the German armed merchant cruiser Schiff 21 / Widder, but the torpedoes missed their target.[1]

She left the Clyde on January 29, 1941 to patrol in the Bay of Biscay. She should have arrived in her patrol area on February 1. She was ordered to remain on station until the 10th and then to return with her escort. Snapper failed to make the rendezvous with the escort and was not heard from again. It is believed that she met her fate through a mine or that she was mortally damaged by a minesweeper which attacked a submarine in Snapper’s area on the 11th although Snapper should have been out of the area by then. Mark, missing your postings.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Thanks, its nice to be missed. Unfortunately, I lost my job of 20 years Last Thursday(they put me out to pasture). Im used to having a terminal close by all day long. Thats no longer the case. So my postings will be fewer now.....unfortunately. Life, however goes on and so will I. Ive been working on getting all my stuff moved out and into my new workshop. So we will get on here probably a couple of times a week. Ive been working on the Albacore and the Scamper. Ill keep my threads updated. My Passion for Sub Driving and Building has not diminished so you can count on me continueing on unabated. Click image for larger version

Is this remodeling or deconstruction? No sign of a dry-dock.

they say deconstruction. Most likely keep it afloat while they salvage all the systems and equipment inside, then float it to another yard to be pulled out and cut up for scrap. Ive seen the US do it taking everything off in Norfolk Virginia and then towing the hulk all the way around florida and up to Mississippi gulf coast to the metal salvage yard to be pulled out and cut up. Aircraft carriers included
