Just to keep you abreast of what I've been up to as to the Caswell-Merriman SD and fittings kit, soon to be unleashed upon an unsuspecting world.

The SD design has been frozen. And the fittings kit components have been identified, manufactured, and the first trial-run of fittings kit parts produced. Parts are manufactured from metal, resin, and sheet plastic.

As example of some of the production tooling and parts completed, I present a choirs line of gay, dancing, Nazi sailors:

Has the unleashing happened? I ask this because I now see the complete kit offered in the Caswell sales page and touted as being "in stock"

Have not had time to get the Type-23 fittings kits to market. Soon as I can, Dan. I'm way behind in work.

Tell you guys what: As I have all the fittings kit parts in the raw sitting in a corner of the Cave, I'll clean up a set and submite a picture of the complete fittings kit package. Fair enough?

Question: Will the fittings kit be available separately? I assume so but always best to ask.
Further, if a builder chose to go the vertical separation route, ala Manfred, would some or all of the fittings kit still be applicable?

Yes, the fittings kit and SD are seperate items.

I believe most of my fittings kit items would be useful if you go the Manfred route.

Just to steer things back on topic for a moment (sorry).

I've been working to develop the jigs, holding and assembly fixtures, and process required for efficient production work of fittings kits and SD's. Samples of that work below:

I agree! Except the training stripe and boot line need to go. And the entire boat should have a rusty appearance from lying submerged for 68 years. I also think the boat is too small in size when compared to the beach and palm tree in the foreground. The real thing was triple the length of a Seehund midget sub. The composite makes it look only about twice the length of a Seehund at best.
