That WTC looks familiar! Nice surgery on that hull.

You can, but i found that tape beeing too brittle in comparision with a woven mesh, uneasy to be brought to shape(it will pop up instead of retaining the form you applied it onto) plus it cannot be partially be dissolved like "real" fiberglass filament, so the end product has got inferior mechanical properties. Better use some heavy filament

Who is that happy guy, laughing into that camera lens? One may have actually fun working in the old man's cave????

Right on the money as to your observations on the reenforcing 'tape' issue, Jorg.

That happy guy is my model boating buddy, Duane Curtis. He's an excellent model kit assembler and scratch-builder. His specialty is 1/96 American aircraft carriers. Here a link to his article on assembling the SSY NIMITZ hull into the USS Harry S Truman: Warship Models Underway Message Board 2.2.3 - Harry S. Truman CVN 75 (mysite.com)

Duan's a detail freak as you can see in the pictures.

He bought two 1/96 SEAWOLF hulls and grafted parts of one into the other to get the long-hull CARTER. Those were SSY hulls based on the Thor kit ('ownership' of that tooling still a point of contention in some circles). The work you see us doing is to de-warp, as best we can, the two hull halves. Much fun and throwing of things at high velocity against the wall.

My mission at the 2022 Georgia regatta, is to get that ******* Merriman to smile during a photograph.

David, That will make you smile? Interesting. Did not know your were into that sort of thing. HAHAHAHA
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I’ll bring my taser, and chase him around the pond until he agrees to behave.

You just stick a cattle prod up their ass and you can get a horse to deal cards.

Oh hell...that classic picture of him sitting there at the sub run flipping us off is pure joy to me. It brought a smile to my face. Who doesn't love a guy full of **** and vinegar?
