We never stop learning. We can never know everything. If that ever happened it would all be pointless. It's this that keeps us going and growing hopefully for a long time to come. Thanks David.

Ohhh black wash to bring it all together……
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

No, Tom. Alternating applications of toothpaste masking and varied colors of 'marine growth'. The final result is illustrated by the completed side (all masking washed away) of the upper rudder.

Stippled layering, if you will. I make this **** up as I go.

Ever wondered what you would be doing right now if you didn't go into making RC model submarines?

David, in photos 2, 3 & 4 above what is the reason for the Bondo where the sail attaches to the hull?

David Manley, one of the best model-builders in the game, designed and produced the masters and tooling of the KILO and BLUEBACK kit. Both kits featured a very shallow well atop the deck to receive the base of the removable sail. The Bondo work you see here is simply tightening up the very small gap between base of the sal and the outline of the well that receives it. I'm kind of anal about things like that.
