The Daphne' class boats look alot like the type XXI u boat hull. They were built in France in the late 50s. Funny, they put one at Lorient U boat pens for display.

All the Sirena class boats were built in 1933, The Galatea survived the war and was finally stricken from the records in 1948. They were sleek looking boats

Marcello class - probably SMG Barbarigo

Motto on tower is "CHI TEME LA MORTE NON E' DEGNO DI VIVERE"

Roughly translated is something like "Who is afraid of death is not worthy of living". I say "roughly" because all the Italian I know comes from studying Latin.

            Ciao,

Thanks Dan for that. My Italian is a bit rusty.............or should I more correctly say Totally Oxidized. Im sure that if I put it into the "Goggle Translater" it would come out similar. That quote was definitely Propaganda. Makes absolutely no sence.

That is indeed the Barbarigo, It was one of the surviving Marcello class boats transfered to Bordeaux, and the tonnage painted on the tower is the big clue, indicates the large Cruiser that she sank. She eventually was sent to Japan as a cargo vessel but was assumed sunk on the first trip.

That picture of the Archer was when it was a RoyalSweedish, before it went to Singapore. What does a City/republic need a submarine for, let alone two of em? Ill bet the ships clock is a doozie, a plus size Rolex like the ones hanging on display at the airport terminal gift shop

Singapore actually packs a lot of firepower, they have more tanks, fighters, (even if they have more located overseas than in sgp - cant train here) attack helicopters etc etc, than any of their neighbours . You know big car small!!!

I'm keeping an eye out in the storm drains and condo swimming pools hoping for a sighting of Archer.
