I dont know much about American Submarines but this photograph looks to be an O Class, but the Pennant Number is confusing. My references tell that the O Class Pennant Number 66 was non existant, pennant number 65 and 67 but no 66. However, I will have another lookLast edited by unseen; 03-07-2013, 04:33 AM.Comment

That is an O boat. USS S-66 was rammed by a steemer near the Panama Canal on Oct 10 1923. Struck from the records on Oct 28. Went down in less than 60 seconds. 3 men lost. It was raised and scrapped a year later The "O" is missleading because back then the names of the classes kept changing. Initialy, it was commissioned as the USS O-5 during WWI After the war the us subs were designated with an "S" in front of the new post war numberLast edited by Von Hilde; 03-08-2013, 09:20 AM.Comment

The post WW-2 Japanese Navy (self defense force) is absolutely anal about cleanliness and material condition of their assets. The USN is a close second.Who is John Galt?Comment

Roger that on the nippon navy. On the other side of the coin, however. I was aboard a TGB (Turkish navy) Fleet sub, that we leased to them, back in the early 60s. Those boys were a Funkey bunch. I dont think they ever changed the OEM fart sacks on the racks since we gave them the boat after the war.Comment
