Thanks for the reply and not frying my Hinten. Alas, I have another question.

In the earlier post on page #2 you said:

Please tell me - what issues - for I was thinking of using your fixture idea but instead of fore and aft solid bars, I would use stiff wires inside of tubing.

Enlighten me "Oh God" from a part of the world where Olympus is the top of a dike 10 meters above sea level.

Hm, somehow you survived my lightning bolt, must be a defect on the lightning generator, i'll order some new anodes, just to be sure.

Since you are still undamaged, i'll answer your question, you refer to bowdencables, that can be used, i referred to a wire spun several times around the shaft of the rudder and connected to a wheel outside the hull, which is connected to the servo rod.
Replacing such wire will be a pain in the butt, since it's almost impossible to do this without major damage to the rearpart, so i went for my module design.

As for, God of the dikes, i live minus 25 meters under sea level, so that 10 meter dike is a laugh, besides, it's better you guys think i live way up hill, you look up, and i can spy you from underneath.

Anyhoo, thanks for the info. I was thinking more of two stiff cables inside sleeving to take the place of your solid fore and aft rods but otherwise just like your fixture - sort of.

I made a hatch on my OTW type XXIII like David did to access the rudder post. I just rtv siliconed the hatch in place, and slid an exacto blade through the silicon when I needed to get to it.

We Dutchies are used to live below the sea level, fighting against the sea is inside our DNA, so, we are always prepared to go under water.

And to cheer you guys up, some news from the Skunkworks, pimped up the dinghy hatch, conningtower hatch and made myself the horse shoe shaped resquebouy complete with the rigg attached to the peroscope protector, pictures



This is the endresult, compared to the Bronco one you've got more details.



The construction itself is based on the same construction as used at their ammo containers.



Since i have a slight disorder for moving hatches, this one can also be opened if you untighten the bolt at the front, and swing the brace aside.



Moving up to the conningtower hatch, the one provided by Bronco is a bit naked, so i added some items.



Added some handels and refurbished the hinges, made from thin solderingwire the new spring.



Due to my modifications it also can be opened.



To me this is one of the eyecatching items on a type XXIII, made the bouy from 3 mm plexiglass and soldered the holder from thin copper plate.



A dryfitt at the peroscope protector, the bouy itself can be removed when driving the boat, and placed back when the boat is at static display.

I still have to add some items inside the conningtower itself, so i can move up to the snorkeldevice, Bronco made a good base to refurbish it into the real thing, wait and see.

For me it wasn't a option to leave the hatch as it was, it's a specific eyecatcher, adding some more details fixed that problem, making it functional was yet again a adventure.

Out of control?, sort off, i think, one of the problems with my way of vertical locking this boat is, i first have to make all details (weight), after that trimming will be done in one attempt, opening up those splitted hull parts time after time is not what i want.

Your XXIII is it hard to handle ?, or a easy driver ?, as for the CG i'll keep that in mind, thanks.
