David,
The reason why it did happened is easy, i simply gave the torpedo 1 puff of gas, my intension was to see what happened with the expelled gas. i guess it wasn't enough to get her out of the tube.
Closing up the breech-end will return my airbubble problem so that's a no no, with building subs nothing is easy, in the end i'll tinker out the problems, you can call me grazy but i like the journey more than driving my subs.
Romel,
You asked about the balancing device of my type VII, i made some vids to show how it's working, but first the boring stuff.
How does it work?, well, instead of the gastorps my electric one's have bouyency, each torpedo has a few gram, in total i've got 5 torps onboard, 4 in the bow and 1 in the stern.
As you allready know, every weightshift will alter the balance of your boat, shooting the torps will encounter to unbalance the boat, to counteract this i've made a shifting weight which is being controlled by my level keeper.
Most work was, to calculate the right amount of lead needed to get me the right compensation with the shifting weight, to build the mechanics i took a peek inside the boat of my good friend who has made the same system, so the wheel was allready invented, it took some more effort to get it working.
One of the many tests to show how it will act in the real life, in this test it proved to be working, but the gearing wasn't low enough, so the boat started to pendel, changed the gear to a other ratio and now it working better with allmost no pendel effect.
A bonus with this system is also, that you can level your boat out when you've changed something small without retrimming the boat again.
Manfred.
