    Mark,

I think I could shave on that finish, No, it's turning out very nice. I suspect all the vents you were working on are now finished, but they were difficult to see from the vantage point the photo was taken, and the shine coming off the hull. The flat should work to tone it down considerably are my thoughts.

Next step was to repaint the bottom hull Banner red. The "Pimento" just wasnt cutting it. While I was at it I installed the scoop grates.Click image for larger version

Still waiting for my Floquil Clear flat. But before that goes on I got to get all the dry transfers on.

Starting with all the dry transfers and there are a lot of them. Some of them dont match the scribing as you can see in the picture. Most of them look really good.Click image for larger version

In this view without the sail it looks like a Tomahawk cruise missile.

Thank you John, I recieved and have been experimenting with Floquil clear flat and am happy with the outcome of those tests. As soon as all the dry transfers are on Ill go ahead with the application of the flat.

,Don't do it! Floquil features a resin that has next to zero abrasion resistance! Come up with another, more industrial-grade flattened clear coat! Floquil's fine for figures and other static display models, but not for r/c vehicles!

Thanks Dave. If anyone has got any suggestions, let me know. Im kinda out of options. The Minwax doesnt come in a flat. The Krylon isnt waterproff and neither is the Testor Dullcote. I think Pactra is out of business.

Now........The hard part. The dry transfer on the front of the bow. Dave has advised me before on how to deal with this beast. In addition to his advise I decided to pre-empt the problem with my own helpful hint. I cut the decal apart so that there would be less area to wrinkle and less of the decal to put down all at once.
