Dont know how many of you guys are anglers, but the idea of a scaled down version of the VDS that will deploy Baits like the kite fishing anglers do utilising a typical outrigger release on the teather. The VDS runs free by rc with a transmitter aboard that relays info to the angler. The towed body houses the camera to watch the baits and strikes as well as the anglers line attached to the clip. I can tell you the market is wide open for new technology in big game fishing. Cost effective for a Captain with a large sportfisherman that doesnt want to troll all day on those big diesels. He can drift while the unit trolls in the proximity of the boat. I think one could put together a system for under $1000 and be able to market them lucratively. Considering the fighting chair on the boat costs upwards to the price of a car or some peoples houses. Tacticle to Practicle the govt paid for the research

ID:	81066M.I.T. bio tuna loaded with sensors and cameras, for homeland security harbor patrols in Boston harbor already. What do you think they have to pay for one of them RC subs? Not to mention what kind of rc toys the SOCOM guys play with at TEVDET, spiders, hummingbirds, snakes, with camers and lazer pointers for target aquisition. Think about a robo porpoise running in front of a ship with a pod of real ones. Programmed to stay with the ship from port to port for survielance or protection. Immagine a robotic remora that attaches it self to the big chinese carrier and transmits all the info to one of our satalites. The Pentagon would know what the Chinamen are having for breakfast in real time. Any problems that might occur would be setteld by the red button, and it would be, Poof! instant Buddah before lunch.

I'm not sure you are aware what British sub that is. It's the V class Venturer, the first sub in history to sink another submarine, German U864, while both were submerged. The U864 was carrying a load of mercury for Japan when it was sunk off the Norwegian coast. The mercury is slowly leaching out into the water causing a lot of worry especially for the nearby fishing grounds. There have been TV shows in the States about this on the Nat Geo channel (I think).

Venturer was then sold to Norway and renamed the Utstein after he war.

History Channel "Mystery of Hitler's last U Boat" The steel cans of mercury were in the keel in place of the lead balast bars but the entire wreck is rusting and falling apart. There was talk of raising the 864 but I havent heard of much about it lately. Some of the cans that were recovered adjacent to the wreck have already rusted open and the mercury gone. It was quite a shot from the venturer as the firing solution was a hip shot sweep of all torpedos and the last one finally hit amidships and broke her back. First underwater sub to sub, torpedo sinking. We sank an IJN surface to surface in 43 in the Philippeans 2 years previously

ID:	81101 In addition to the "funny name", this boat had a crew with a sense of humor.

Pulaski was a Polish born revolutionary war hero who saved George Washingtons life. Old george made Kaz a general for it. He didnt spell his first name with a C. It was Kazimierz. If Tom jefferson and Ethan Allen can have their names on boats he should. The Navy couldnt affoard to paint his whole name on the boat, so you know the drill. Contract goes to the lowest bidder, so they shortened it from: Kazimierz Michal Waclaw Wiktor Pulaski of Slepowron. Now thats what I call a funny name. The crew probbably calles her "The Kazz" Illinois has a Kaz Pulaski day, and New Jersey has the Pulaski skyway bridge. Howzzatt for poop in yer flat hat shpmates!! Carry on, Ill be at the scuttlebut all day..over
