Curious about the Chinese boat propulsion. The "Cleaver" prop, I know about, but the small prop, I assume is a counter rotating vortex inhibitor of some sort. Any body know?

Has anyone found the class of sub this is?
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I like it because it would just about fit at my dock. Id have to "borrow" a few feet of space from the neighbors on each side tho. A 1/4 scale model would be neet. Its a P-4 Korean peoples republic mini as far as I can tell. They had a bunch of small boats YUGO, YONO and Sang O class. I think the P4 was the prototype of those. The "watermark" is Korean for "unclassified" or "Officially released DPRK"Click image for larger version

Its the Dutch sub O 19 that ran aground in the south Pacific near the end of WWII, the USS Cod rescued the crew and tried to destroy the wreck, so it wouldnt fall into Japanese hands. They set charges then blasted it with several rounds from the deck guns and finally slipped a tin fish in her to no avail. The wreck of boat still is visible today, bow high on the reef. It was a unique looking boat with abeam torpedo doors. The event was filmed by one of the Cobb crewman that had a home movie camera aboard. There is a u tube vidio of the action as well. Check out the Cod's artwork on the tower of all the kills, There is one martini glass with O-19 stenciled which was for the party they had with the Dutch sailors they rescued who had been on war patrol and hadnt been home for several years. Musta been some party.Click image for larger version

Subron8 boat from after wwII untill we gave her to the Turks in the late 60s. We did "lock out" tests with Munsonlungs on that boat.
