    David where should the cylinder be placed? Mine is 2.5”, 23” long including a 7” ballast tank.

      Longitudinally, place the center of the ballast tank at the center (half-way point) of the hull.

          Yeah. And note the need to make the attachment of the bow and stern plane 'guards' much more robust than what the kit calls for. Those will snap off if you don't reenforce the bond between guards and hull.

                  I can speak for me, to get air out quickly.
                  If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
