    New Trumpeter Kilo 1:144 Build

Trying something new! This is a 1:144 Kilo build. The Cylinder arrived from overseas today! Since my pool is 40’x20’ I have been looking for a smaller scale sub. My 1:96 scale Blueback does well, but not as nimble as this should be. Updates to follow!

That is quite a production line of Kilo's, what year was that?

              Biggsgolf,

If I'm not mistaken that's an rcShipyard WTC with a peristaltic pump- water bag ballast system.

              Website: https://www.rcshipyard.com/shipyard/.

Are you using the kits stock parts i.e. dive planes and rudder or do you have David's resin fitting kit for the Kilo?

I am using the rcshipyard fittings kits for the Kilo and the Soryu. I oredered the Kilo Cylinder set up, and the Soryu Cylinder unassembled.

I have found very few 1:144 kits. I guess I am in the minority since so far I only drive the subs in my pool, no lakes etc. May do that after I am more exprienced....

Not sure about the Soryu's prop but the Kilo's hub is rounded with 4 vortex attenuator blades in a + pattern.

This what the domestic and foreign propellers look like for that boat:
