Next mod could be to cast a slot in the base to thread a velcro tie-down strap through.

Hey! That's a good thought. I like it, Scott.
Tom: send me another 808 camera housing casting. Time we went commercial with this thing of yours. I'll clean it up, buff it up with my, and Scott's good ideas -- along with any one else who can dream up an enhancement, use it as a production master, and cast up a bunch of these for Mike to sell for us.
Bout time the great-unwashed was given a small profile, easy to use water proof camera case for those wonderful little 808 HD video camcorders.
Tom Chalfant is a frig'n genius. So is Andy, Mark, Al, Kevin, Chuck, Manfred, Skip Asay and a few others .... oh! Me too!
The rest of you kinda suck, but show some promise.
Proof of Tom's genius is this neat cast resin, two-piece 808 video camera watertight housing. He was kind enough to share a copy of this thing with me. He did so a couple of months ago. Now, needing a video study of the 1/60 ALBACORE dorsal rudder effects on roll attitude, it comes in handy.
I modified it a bit so I can turn the little HD video camera (a wonderful thing in itself!) on and off without breaking into the case or removing the assembly from the back of the model submarine. I modified one of the plugs to serve as a pressure fitting -- so I can validate watertight integrity of the case.
Yes, Tom has certainly become a quick study in the field of model submarines, displaying a true interest in the hobby and willingness to share his accomplishments, for certain. "Bravo Zulu", Tom.
Davids compliments to those mentioned, are indeed very gracious, particularly in my case, as I've found it increasing difficult to formulate basic sentence structure, and grammar of late, as depicted in the video posted by Mark Green regarding the inner workings of my 1/48 Gato boat. Too many lost brain cells I suspect the culprit. Ha!
On the other hand those comments are more than fitting folks like Kevin Mcleod who has taken the time to contribute a product most useful in our hobby and provide the necessary assistance and personal expertise to many of us here on the Sub-driver forum.
The guiding hand of Andy(Subculture) for his continual guidance and ongoing support, and Mark Green's relentless pursuit of high quality submarine photo's, which have provided the necessary detail specific to a particular class or generation of submarine.
There are others as well who may have not been specifically mentioned, but fit the bill in every right simply for their skill level, and contributions if for nothing more than to share their work, and tenacity to replicate in fine detail every aspect of the boat they have decided to model, to them, thank you for sharing.
OK, enough said. In short, "Long live the model submarine builder". :-)

Next time someone points out it takes 42 muscles to frown, point out it will only take 4 muscles to b1tch slap them if they tell you how mnay muscles you need to smile:pop
There should be a law about putting up porn like this on youtube..smokin hot
I'm drooling David - photos & progress please on the GRP kits development....
I have never seen any standard cruciform boat of this size handle as well on the surface and in forward and reverse. Then there's the speed (with ESC dialled back 30%). I new you were a friggin genius, but sheeze...let me count the ways I hate you.
Get on it. You'll sell many, and you'll sell them fast.

So ... Ellie's in the kitchen doing the dishes and the damned cat trips her up. Down she goes, like a sack of potato's. Both bones in the wrist broken. Nice work, Cat! Little *******!
While the Dragon Lady is on the mend I'm working to make a new, improved 2.5", single-motor motor bulkhead -- resulting in parts that will be less labor intensive to manufacture, set-up, and test.
Here I'm showing the mocked-up 'new' motor-bulkhead master next to the current production 2.5" single-motor motor bulkhead. Not much obvious difference between the two, but the changes are significant.
The RTV tools are curing now. Film at Eleven!
"... here, kitty-kitty-kitty, I got something for you"
Nice work on the 2.5". I'll be using the new 3" on my project ASSWIPE, so please include WTC saddles David in the kit that can take either size.

The holes around the brass tubing for the air induction and venting is it large enough to push the hose into and small enough to act as a compression fitting?
Looks like you did simplify, always thinking aren't you?
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

No need for hose retainers in this application, Tom -- the differentual pressure of the SAS is not that high. No hose is going to flip off its nipple do to over-pressure.
Sorry to hear about Ellie. THAT MEANS YOU ARE DOING THE DISHES DAVE! Not to mention spoon feeding her until shes better. Your a GOOD HUSBAND...........I can sense these things.
IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!
