    Thanks David!

"B" it is! Moving on to complete the stern of this boat and finish up the rest, like the sail, and bow planes!

      Dave,
      Dave,

I am assuming the photos are of the Borei 955 and not the 955 ll?

I have started to work on the sail (conning tower) appendages (periscope, radar, etc..)

I am going to use mostly brass tubing and Apoxie Sculpt to achieve the desired look! (as close to the original as possible)

Why brass when aluminum (the right 'color' and light of weight) is a better choice for the masts?

Coming late to the party. Here is a great thread on the Borei that has some answers to your jet pump impeller quesiton. I wish I had found it when I was origanally drawing the 3D files. Also if you are a sub committee member David has an article in SCR 11 titled "Model submarine propeller theory, design and fabrication".

Hello All, After completing the re-tooling of the Resolution a couple of months ago, I have had the idea to embark on yet another boat. I can't help myself.

I've long had a glass reinforced plastic/fiberglass (GRP), resin and white-metal Precision Pattern (http://www.precisionpattern.biz/subs/index.htm) 1/96

                    Randy,

Thank you very much for posting the build blog on the Borei! It is extremely helpful not only with the impeller, but with other building aspects. The sail was another area which was covered as well!

Thank you for sharing that build blog with us!

Thank you for posting up that great information! Between David M., Randy and you I have a lot of information on impeller construction!!

                      Thank you!

I have a good start on the sails array of different antennas! I picked four of the most dominate antennas that I found on some original photos and went with those!

I stayed with the original BRASS tubing, because that is what I started with, plus I have a lot of hand work done to get them to this point. I realize the photos show a sort of dirty alum. color, and I will be able to get that effect with paints. These are not complete yet, because I still have little tidbits to add to them, and also the final sanding and clean up work prior to adding the detail painting!

Pickle the brass so it does not shrug off the primer-paint later.

I sure will do that David! Thanks for the reminder. I ordered the material (acid) that I will be using on the Type ll that I am building, and I will use it on any painted brass on my Borei!

Temporally bored the holes and mounted the sail arrays just for fit!

They will be mounted after the sail is secured to the hull and basically finished!

Before anyone jumps in please note they are not finished yet!!!

The above photo shows the underside of the sail, and the bottom support holes for the sails antennas! This will allow me to completely finish the sub hull inside and out, and then install the antennas through the top and down through the support holes (which line up perfectly) secure them and we are done with this build!

What's next will be the prep work and final finish work! Time to start the next 3D printing project! The Russian Typhoon!
