      You quack me up!

(sorry guys - I do not know what came over me)
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Yeah we all need to exchange a little humor now and then and again. Have you ever watched a duck try to dive. They remind me of an improperly trimmed model sub with their tail feathers sticking up in the air as they try to go under. Its a struggle until they break free of the surface, then they can go down to forage for food.

The color of the water is mostly due to the latitude at the location. The farther north you go gives the darker color. The closer to the equator the water is lighter green. It has to do with the angle of the sun and the refraction of the sun's rays through the water.

My last post was in response to post 791 showing a Chinese sub diving in light green water.

I think it's also worth mentioning that algae plays an important role in the green color. In cold water its virtually non-existent, but in tropical waters the green will be anything from a light color to a very dark, thick color. The seas around Indonesia are apparently like this. Hence HMS SIBYL (my dad's boat) was painted Brunswick Green (Hunter Green).
