Ko-hyoteki. What you see here is a composite hull built from two of the three subs that attacked Sydney in 1942. It was paraded around, but eventually put in a museum. Read here: http://www.ww2australia.gov.au/under...ydharbour.html

Unusual net cutter on the tower. Most had them on the bow around the two tubes, only. The I-19 was across the street from my barracks at the Naval Station Key West in the early 60s. It was moved to the city lighthouse museum for several years then split up in the 3 major components and barged to Texas to the WWII museum where it sits today
