Notice this brightened version of this picture. I did that to reveal more detail. Notice the radial lines on the bow. That must be a conformal array that you cant normally see.

Aussie power. Look at the shape of the blades from this angle. I wonder if that is an optical illusion.Click image for larger version

Don't think so. Petal shaped blades are not common but, as can be seen here, they're used.

This style of prop was usually standard and found on the Oberon Class and some of the later serving Porpoise class. That is while in service with the RN. The only boat that I can remember which had standard shaped 3 bladed screw was Opossum.

Unseen, you didnt, by any chance, serve aboard an Upholder class did you?

No, but why do you ask. I was a photographer for the Royal Navy Submarine Museum and a consultant for them on the Oberon Class. I did spend alot of time however, restoring HMS/m Ocelot at Chatam Historic Dockyard. Re the Upholder Class Submarine SSK, I spent the day on Unicorn just prior to her final Pay Off at Devonport, but toured Trafalgar during refit and Valiant on disposal at the Submarine Disposal and Refit Complex on the same day. This was of course prior to having a heart attack a few years ago where I could enter anywhere without being challenged.

Wow! Well I ask because I am naturally curious about anyones Knowledgable response. For example, your username is Unseen. That was the name of an Upholder class boat. Nice to have you aboard!
