This torpedo picture was labeled "Argonaute". Probably for the now retired French job of the same name. I dont see any wire spool for guidance so Im going out on a limb and saying that this was before the days of wire guidance. Anyone have a comment on this?

What are those honeycomb holes for?
Also, what is that sailor with the cross wrench doing?
Make it simple, make strong, make it work!

There's a well around the muzzle ends of the VLS tubes that isolates the ballast tanks. Those holes on deck are the vents for that well.

That's a T-wrench. The guy is tightening/loosening the securing bolt to that particular set of reversible-cleats. (Their getting ready to loose that other T-wrench over the side -- the one on deck ahead of the sail fairing -- giving the safety swimmer/diver something to do later in the day other than taking liberty).

Jeezus! ... three swinging dicks watching one guy work. Have they finally Unionized my Navy?!

                  David,
                  Who is John Galt?

The info with the picture said Dolfin hull. Looks quite alot like a WW2 German type VII the way it tapers down.
