Mark, Just got back and had a look at that Alrosa site, very good, it isn't the one I have got my most of my pics from, (not sure I will ever find that again !). Wondering why they haven't really gone into pumpjets until recently. I know the RN were playing around with them in the 70's. anyway I like this one.
Peter.

High Atlantic sails on corporal and CobblerLast edited by greenman407; 11-06-2012, 10:47 AM.IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment

The Pomodon getting the Guppy treatment in 47 sure shows the influance of the type XXIs flowing lines on the sail and upper hull. The Corpral and Cobbler were Subron 8 boats. That pic is in Key West early 60s after the new sails. Most likely tied up next to the Bushnell AS15 which was here, as well as the Gillmore AS16 during the Cuban crisis Oct 62. The boats in the back are some "8"boats as well.Last edited by Von Hilde; 11-06-2012, 11:26 AM.Comment

I think the Pomodon had several sails. The one in the picture is unique, and I think the first one with the Guppy I. After the Guppy II mod it was changed to more conventional looking in the 50s and then changes again with the big Atlantic sail in the 60s.
Here she is with the Menhaden, first sub I ever was aboard.
