So, here we go with our new sail. I got it sanded down but I didnt get a picture of that. Im going to do some additional scribing. The grill in the upper rear of the sail to be specific. Nothing extensive.

Also, It has been suggested that I put some LED marker lights on my subs to help maintaining visibility with the submerged sub in dark water. I think that, that is a great idea. However, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to do that? I mean the Skipjack and the Albacore are both about 40" long. It will require mighty small lights to be sure. I thought about fiber optics but that sounds like a lot of trouble. Or using clear sprew of the correct diameter and mounting a light behind it. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I got the sail together and got it primed. We will fill some surface imperfections and squirt it "Charcoal Grey". Then I will make the linkage end for the rudder. Then the Fun part.....getting the old sail off without destroying it.IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment

I got in the ready made LEDs that I ordered. (2) green, (2) red and (2) cool whites. They come with a resister inline and shrink wrapped and 14" of wire.

Is that about a 1.8mm LED? How do you find them for brightness....? Your Skippy is coming along nicely mate I haven't touched mine since December!! (apart from cleaning it...)

Bruce, they are indeed 1.8mm. I havent checked yet. Ill do that tomorrow. With the supplied resistor already installed, they are set to run on 6 to 12 volts. Ive already got the 9 volt transistor battery setup that I use in the Seaview. Ill hook it up tomorrow and see about the brightness and report back.
