      Wouldn't it cause bending the control rod?
      As configured, yes. If you choose this method, you should use two bearing spred as far apart as possible to support the push rod.

                    This is an excellent expose on linear servo solutions. Need to book mark this.
                    If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
