... and thanks for that visual, you ****! I'm off to the shower to scrub my brain with some Draino.
MIke says: I'm gonna call a couple of hard-pipe-hittin' $@^!$@# to go to work on Merriman here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. You hear me talking hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you. I'm gonna get medieval on your butt!
I'll be in for at least one of these kits. Close to the same size as the old 32nd Parallel type XXIII, with what looks like some great detail. This is one of my favorite boats.

I'm with you, Sam. A 32nd Parallel sized Type-23 with proper detailing and the ability to put our own system in it. Beautiful! Can't wait to get my grubby hands on one.

David
My first and only sub as of now(sold my robbe type7 a few years ago) was 32 parallel type23 to which I added Dave's wtc-3. fits into sub fine but not much room,it's all Dave had at the time for smaller subs. if the Bronco kit is the same size more or less I may try to do a switch. Bronc are well know for detailed model armour so this kit should be very good. now we wait for the kit and see what the Mr Dave comes up with.
Cheers

The old WTC-3. Boy, that takes me back. Today I would recommend our 'standard' 2.5 SAS SD
Did you have to rip out the 32nd P "pressure hull" first? That was touch and go, without tearing the hull itself. I gave David the one that I had. I am looking forward to the type of detail that the styrene model will sport, as opposed to the ABS hull.

I have called at least 6 model shops and this kit is like a ghost. If anyone can find one stateside please let me know. The first kit I assembled was the Type XXIII by 32nd Parallel. The WTC was junk but the boat was pretty neat.
I would say that other than the wooden Krick r/c submarine kit, the 32nd Parallel was the first mass-produced r/c submarine kit that was a success -- commercially and as a product. A bold, important step by Simon and Sheila Smith that advanced the craft light-years ahead of where it was before that kits introduction.
32nd Parallel is long gone, but Simon's work stands as a corner-stone of the state-of-the-art as we know it today. That kit got many into the game and fostered further developments.
Yep, it's me, David. Looking forward to seeing what can be done with this styrene model. Sounds like it will be next year sometime before it's available...
