    Russian Borei Sub Build

Recently I purchased the 3D print files for the "Russian Borei" from Nautilus Drydocks! My intentions are to use one of the WTC ((SD) that I have built for some of my other subs! This will be a static model, as well as a surface runner with the possibility of being able to dynamic dive in my pool!

I will most likely put my ANYCUBIC Predator to work on this project! I will be using Solutech white PLA and fabricate it at 100% infill! I will start posting the build with photos

        Hi Ed,

Thanks, Another learning project for me!

This Borei is a 1:144 scale that I am 3D printing from files that I purchased from Nautilus Drydocks.
It seems like every time I turn around, Bob puts up more print files that I just have to have! I believe this hobby has turned into a sickness for me Ed!!

My wife said I may need "some professional" help!

            1:144?

Darn it, was hoping we could chase 1:96 Boomers around the Pond.

            Looking good.

            Yes, addicting.
Yes, we need help. (All Admirals will agree on that!!)

Stupid question? Do the files include the wtc cradles and necessary fittings?, or does one need to fabricate them?

                Hi Bruce,

The Borei files do come with cradles as such, but it has what is called rings, and I am assuming they are the cradles, not as beefy as most cradles are! Not sure what you mean by fittings? It's a basic hull with rudders, dive planes, and sail!

                  Hi again Bruce,

Here are the photos of the lower hull cradles (or rings) for the Borei! It looks like the upper cradles are the same! Hope this helps you!

There are four for the upper hull, and four for the lower hull!

Thanks Rob! When I said fittings I meant like pushrod connectors, rudder arms, and bow and stern arm files

I guess I am referring to the rudder, dive planes and stern plane yokes?

The items you have listed you will have to fabricate!

                            Hi Rob,

Yes, this is my Borei kit that has been on the market for a couple of years now. She is a nice boat however being a Russian Boomer she has a small rudder area and isn't so great at turning.
Nice and big hull, plenty of room for everything.

I need to do some clean up work on the parts, and then it's ready to start putting it together! I am very pleased as to how well the parts printed out!
