Are you talking about Resin 3D printers?

Bob, not necessarily. Just wondering what PLA printer you are using and having success. If you are using epoxy that would be interesting as well but I think it might be too brittle.

Yes Resin printers can print boat and Sub hulls. Please note you need a mid and large 3D resin printer to do it right. A few people on ebay are selling whole RC subs printed in Resin. It looks like someone in China bought a Engel 212A Model Submarine from Germnay and had it shipped to China and when they got it, they laser scanned it and scanned it other ways to make a Printable model and printed it in resin to sell. Here is one of the sellers:

Making a mold is definitely on my mind. I think this would be a good seller. I'd have to re-print the stern and bow sections to make them more appropriate for molding, split at the same height so that I wouldn't have to mess with a parting board. In order to get all those awesome deck details, I'd want to make a rubber hardbacked tool.

                      Thinking, thinking...

I just don't know where the days go... I wake up at 3:30am, work all day, and then start all over. I barely have time to check the forums, let alone post often, but I need to change that.

                            Let's try again...

1:144 Typhoon kit is in the works. Master patterns are on the mounting boards, and have the first coat of primer. Probably another 4 to 5 sand/fill/prime cycles before it will be ready for rubber.

James Bond Lotus is back on the bench. Again, lots of sanding, filling and priming right now. Should be epic once ready! Click image for larger version

Finishing up a 77th scale Nautilus static display model with full interior, lights and moving prop. With luck, I will be ready to ship by the end of the week.

Our next 3D file kit will be the HL Hunley. Prototype parts are printed and ready for assembly. Working on an assembly video now.

1/6 Delphin hull mold is done. This will be a hybrid kit with fiberglass and 3D printed parts. Hopefully it will form the basis for a sub $750 complete RC sub kit! It will be a rocket! I've sourced a beautiful contrarotating drive assembly for the prototype.

Managed to get the Nautilus finished up! The paint ended up being over seven steps, but I'm very happy with how it turned out. This display model features a full interior in both the wheelhouse and salon area, LED lighting, fully actuating rudder and dive planes, open or closed breather display parts, superdetailed skiff, and an operational propeller. She is getting boxed today and shipped to the customer in France!

Aside from packing up orders, Jason and I also had a few minutes to go onto assembling the prototype parts for the upcoming HL Hunley 3D CAD file offering. This is a really gorgeous model and I'm excited to see it completely assembled.
