"Clean Sweep" broom on the North Carolina. In WWII it meant they used up all the torpedoes and sunk all the ships they engaged on patrol. I don't think they expended all their torpedoes, but might have simulated "hit" all their targets on the range during the exercise.Comment

A question was asked a while back as to how to distinguish between the Seawolf class and the Virginia class. The easiest way is the Sail Fillet. You know, the slopey thing that eases the flow of water where the front of the sail attaches to the deck? On the Seawolf class its real tall and long. It reaches all the way up to the horn. On the Virginia, its much shorter in both directions. Note the two pictures. The first one is the Seawolf, and the second one is the Virginia. Then both full size.
