That will be GREAT David, looking fwd to it!!
I'm finishing on the research.......I'm struggling (lack of info) with the underwater part of the sub......but I'm getting there......I will assume flood holes would have been ALFA wise.
Is Wayne Frey still around? If so can how can I contact him?
Grtz,
Bart

Fabricated securing arrangement upper and lower hull
Connected fwd dive planes
Finished transportation box, every compartment is provided with his own vent holes
Yes on the pictures the towed array pod is not in line with the centerline of the sub....don't worry she is not yet fixated.
Will do some IW trimming this evening.

Bart

Bart,
You are a craftsman. From that outstanding Akula to the box it is being put in, you show a great ability that surpasses most of the RC submariners out there (myself included). You are an inspiration.
Peace,
tomIf you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.Comment

Tom: I was getting ready to delete your fawning and lip-stick smeared love letter to Bart. But, as I once again scrolled through his primer-gray AKULA pictures I found myself nodding in agreement with you. Therefore, I permit you to live yet another day.

Thank you HWSNBN, (bowing low), I am thankful for every day I am given. I will also discontinue the use of lipstick, although I did like that shade. If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.Comment

And how I'm supposed to get some sleep without terrible nightmares…..Even when Starring at the water in the bathtub doing trimming work I see Tom’s reflection THKS guy’s…..this will take a while to fade.
A quick in-between WIP
Empty ballast;
Put as much weight in her as I could add foam. Had to put the foam all the way up to the waterline to get her stability right. It's very good now, self-righting is very quick, she is very stable in the water.
In ballast:
was almost perfect without doing anything......her ass was slightly to light......she was floating on the towed array pod, I have to make the towed array pod free flooding…..good thing I didn’t glued the sucker in place yet.

Bart

A live WIP,
Pod is free flooding now.....in ballast trim is good....although I'm not able to blow the ballast tank empty.....will do some investigation by elimination of possibilities.
