Thanks David for the eye candy! Is that a single drive shaft converted to dual with the gears? How do they attach to the prop shafts, I see what looks like tubing, I assume for illustration? Any thoughts on a submarine that would accomodate a 2” that turns sharply? Maybe a boat with the props forward of the planes & Rubber(s). Most seem to be dual props so would need to convert single shaft to dual ising gears.Comment

Oohh! I see. That's supper small! Agreed, maybe you can get a 1.25" SD into that Type-7. Tight fit for the 1/144 GATO. I'll help if I can.
How do you get your fat fingers in that little cylinder?“Of the 40,000 men who served on German submarines, 30,000 never returned.”Comment

Here you see the only difference with the 1.25" SD motor-bulkhead is the inclusion of the opposing gear to drive the second propeller shaft.
The soft rubber tubing (silicon or latex) forms a poor-mans universal joint between drive chain elements. However, using this means of correcting for running gear off-set mandates that the thrust loads be absorbed at the after-most bearing points: The shaft strut bearings on the GATO; and the ball type gimbal on the Disney NAUTILUS.
That little KILO turns just fine! https://youtu.be/oc4XLg79QDI
Don't over-think this project!

So my 1:144 Kilo Pool Trials went well on surface maneuvers, however, ballast pump was inoperable. Upon my return to my shop I found that my Tx settings had been changed. I mapped my ballast channel five to switch C. Somehow that got changed…..grrrrrrr. Will return for pool runs in 10 days.Comment

Hi Biggsgolf.
Just want to ask your about your KILO WTC. AFAIK, you're the only one who has used the RCshipyard WTC. How is the motor output shaft sealed?Make it simple, make strong, make it work!Comment
