To hold the tower to the deck I went with small magnets, 6mm x 1m rods for the tower and 5mm x 1mm discs for the deck.
To set them in place I used a ruler with the magnet stuck to it, then with a tiny drop of superglue it is pushed into predrilled holes, and when set the ruler is slid away (the brass alignment pins are sticking up).
They are flush to the bottom of the tower.
I went with nine evenly spaced, I think that's enough grip, the 1mm discs were put in in 5mm holes in the deck (which is 1mm thick styrene), with plastic backs.
A new way for me, saw Bob from Nautilus and others use this method, so gave it a try.
