Attaching the rear jumpers, a little unorthodox manor. CAed the mini magnets to the tips of the coper wire soldered stantions. Relieved the deck plate at the hull attachment points.with the ends of the jumpers stuck thru the holes, no magnets needed to secure the stern deck. Magnets hold the wire on the stantions. Tower ends will be solidly secured to the gun deck railing.Last edited by Von Hilde; 06-24-2015, 09:14 AM.Comment

just when you think you got everything worked out, along comes the latest and greatest since sliced bread. Revell's new U boat out Nov 2015no word about the type XXI frm them, but the PE incert picture is from Oto, already got his mitts on the schnell snout kit. Almost was going to chop a good hull up to make one, myself. Now I feel like the guy that bought the 63 Vett split window and cut it out the next year to look like a new one. Only to find out years later the original split window Vetts go for 6 figures at auction if un molested.Last edited by Von Hilde; 06-25-2015, 04:52 PM.Comment

Some work on the aft rigging, Had to reinforce the cable plate with a piece of aluminium because the plastic wouldn't hold the wire. It broke thru the first time I put tension. There are brass PE tabs in one of the type IX deck sets I have but don't know where I put them, so I made aluminium ones. Filed the molded rivets flat for a good glue face for the tab.Comment

Ok Im back sort of. Just about finished with t type IX number one. Weathering process has begun. Got a guy that wants to buy it right now. I hadnt made up my mind about selling it, but I have plenty more projects stacked up waaiting on time and or funds. Afte chatting with HNSNBN about what it is worth, Ive come up with a number, but it would be only fair to offer it here first. Cash and trades concideredComment
