    Christmas goodies!

Okay folks, what's the haul with respect to items received this 25th of December 2024 regarding our common passion??

    I'll start!

1-Shop stool to replace the one that offered by Bob, yet was absconded by a ne'er do well before I could grab it!

Industrial Metal Shop Stool, 30 Seat Height: The good kind we had in shop!

Now while technically, Ihe following may NOT seem like a "shop" item and used elsewhere (in honestly, so can the previous), but as you've undoubtedly surmised by now, I'm a "tech head". Granted some of you "Neanderthal's" here (I know of one who already did make a remark) will claim a good notebook does the same; But I think this is one of the most valuable tools in my belt, and SIERRA NOVEMBER agreed (well, technically the "Admiral")

Look, I'm an Android guy with a Pixel 6 Phone, so this brand made sense, and now I don't need to squint lol. I'm also a BIG Google guy, I use ALL their apps in some form or another with this passion! Sheets, Doc , Keep (lord I love Keep!), Tasks, Calendar, Gmail, Chrome etc. Yeah, I know the Neanderthals here will quote that old adage..if you're not paying for the product, you are the product'. But I don't really give a crap if they're tracking my $#*!, sending browsing related AD content, etc. But I do pay extra for the space, so they are taking my $$, and if they're snooping my content, then as a paying customer I expect security and they need to give it because if word got out they didn't, a lot more important clients than me would be litigating here. Are there privacy issues, I'm sure, but I know that and account for it, plus I'm flattered if some a$$clown is out there actually paying attention to little old me. I refuse to live in a closet out of fear.

This tool is important because I have constant ideas and projects which I can now sketch, type, photo, audio record at anytime. Using the aforementioned app's I can cross reference all this data, remind myself by date OR location, have links to reference URLS, record stills and video of any event I want . I can Zoom with anyone, anywhere and share (again without squinting). It also works WITH my phone as I'm usually not carrying this 24/7. I was set up and running in less than 10 using my account, and the behavior is identical so I'm not learning new tricks. Now to find the app that works with Fusion 360....

I can also stream Movies or music in the shop if I choose.

    What paper notebook does this?

To each his own said the Farmer when he kissed the pig.

I'll go. Ed will like this..... a few Fusion 360 books.

A digital readout for the tailstock on my lathe.

A Radiolink receiver with some telemetry for battery level. And a very cool tool, comes as a leather belt hole divider but can be used to make equidistant marks for ladders etc.

My son will run copper pipe for air compressor distribution. He will put in manifolds, filters, condensation collectors, and valves. Pretty stoked.
His girlfriend bought me the running gear, prop, rudder, etc. for the Revell Flower Class Corvette 1/72.
Got smaller items like cutting mat, brushes, and some oil paint.
A little whiskey as well. Good Christmas.

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Coal for me, too! I used to mine the stuff before I traded a hole in the ground for a hole in the water. Tom, I did the Flower a few years ago, as USS Temptress, PG-62, and she was fun to drive around! Had a habit of shedding fiddly-bits every pond adventure, though!! You'll have fun with that one!!

My daughter is a wizzard at making custom t-shirts on her printer ... I was complaining about only having sailboat shirts so this year she has been poking around the workshop computer and I received these ... Happy New Years to everyone, Khim

Of the approximately 40,000 men who served on U-boats in WWII, it is estimated that around 28,000 to 30,000 lost their lives.

I did purchase this neat little device a couple of weeks ago. They tend to be sold as polishers or grinders, but are in essence a very small cordless drill with variable speed control. Not huge torque, so don't trade in the Dremel, but handy for small jobs or areas where space is tight, and not very expensive.
