HMS Holland 1 - 3D CAD model in the making

So I got this nice Plate 1 and the usable copy of the John Lambert plan (thanks Jason for that!). I'll try to create a 3D CAD model of the HMS Holland in a way, so that I can make a cut-away display model in 1:35 scale of it. Started with the slightly sharper Plate 1 and so far I have the spindle-shaped hull with their L-frames.

    Andreas,

Looks like you have found a 2D plan that will work to create your model of the HMS Holland 1! I am sure looking forward to this build!

That's sheet 2 of the John Lambert plan.

You can get a full copy from-

Designer: John Lambert Star Rating: *** Very detailed external and internal drawings of the Navy's first submarine drawn at 25.5in length. The drawings are very detailed and annotated and make interesting study in addition to their value to a modeller. No model construction details are included. Please note that all plans are printed to order […]

        Excellent…. that's what I was looking for.

I ordered the plans, and if they are good, I'll get them scanned and then I'll work of them. Better than internet material, no matter how good it is...

So I'm putting a hold on the project till the plans are here.

        Cheers Andreas

Took a while, but thank to the nice hint by Mr. Subculture I got hands on the John Lambert pans of the HMS Holland, got them scanned and now I'm good to go....

I ran into this excellent 3D model of the HMS Holland by Mark Alloway:

Old model that I’ve redone using the Filmic color management settings and the new Principled shader.

As I'm missing source material for the Engine I contacted him to learn where he got his information. He was very helpfull, and I'm happy to say, that I got some very accurate drawíngs of the Otto engine . That's a big differenece,....

A bit of progress on the Otto motor of the HMS Holland. Some rocker levers, valves and retaining springs.
