Note this picture of a Golf. The sail has been heavily modified to test launch the new( at the time) R-39 missile. A three stage solid fuel unit with a liquid fueled booster.

Fellow Submariner Dudes! I found this Portuguese website about Russian submarines from WW2. Its full of old, fuzzy, dark, worthless pictures. Well, using 21st. Century technology, I resurrected a few of them that weren't quite so bad. Looks like a few of the K class in there. Feel free to comment on them.
