What are the Best Glues to use on 3D PLA material

I was wondering what the BEST glue to use to join parts together from a 3D printing of PLA material? I heard a brand name Plastruct Plastic weld is BEST. I have some and tried it on a scrap piece BUT after a day I was able to pry the pieces apart. Should that be possible OR is my bottle old?????

I've never had issues with CA adhesives on PLA. The trick is to sand the mating surfaces first. With a perfectly flush set of faces, thin CA grabs permanently. If you have gaps, I like rubber-reinforced CA gel. I swear by Gorilla brand CA gel.

In my experience, the PLA part will break before the connection will.

Same goes for resin printed parts.
Make sure they are fully cured, not sticky.
Clean mating surfaces with IPA after sanding.

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

I have used CA which works well.
But for the ultimate in strength, I use this.
You need a jack hammer to take something apart if you use this stuff.

Reading the label I saw "Resists weathering and humidity" which in our environment it needs the definitive waterproof. However, I went to the site and here are more specs:
                    • Bonds: Hard Plastic, Styrene, PVC, Acrylic, Ceramic, Concrete, Fiberglass, Metal, Vinyl, Wood
                    • Tensile Strength: 3500 psi
                    • Color: Cream
                    • Waterproof
                    • Handling Time: 4-5 Minutes
                    • Set Time: 10-15 Minutes
                    • Cure Time: 24 Hours
                    • Temperature Range: -40°F to 200°F

                    Very cool tip! Thank you.

                      Hi Bob
Thanks for your advice on glues.
About the Gorilla glue CA Gel, does it specifically say on the tube that it has rubber in it? OR is that a special version of that glue?
