Her Majesty enquired as to my intentions - having wandered down to the bunker and spied me building a "coffin"!!! "One more ****ty video", I said etc etc.

LOL. Yesh. That could give a neglected spouce reason for concern. Nice looking box. (you should have assured her with, "but, darling, I put air-holes in it!"). Long ago Ellie stopped asking.

This box thing might be getting a little out of hand. I built this new box for the Alpha yesterday.

Will that coffin do for Australian cricket ? I like the box the Alfa looks very secure in that. Going to be a bit of a lump with the Oscar in one though...

Oh my giddy Auny.... All out for less than 70 runs! The Australian selectors might need to came and have conversation with your son about future employment.

It all clear to me now..... Inside every Oscar there is a 212 trying to get out! Click image for larger version

That would.be the Oscar III they are taking forever to build, the parasite sub carrier like they did with the Yankee.

              Peter

              p.s. didn't know they were using a 212!

I took it out for a run in the pool today. I'd forgotten what a great little boat this is. It was scooting around at about three feet under the surface and I was having a wonderful time.... until I slowed down and THEN realised that it was out of gas! So a very cold (and chastening) swim later; I took it back into the bunker and sat it in the hull of the Oscar to dry off and was struck by the size comparison. They are both the same scale (1/96). Quite striking.

This is the rear of the forplane and torpedo mount. The control arm for the forplanes was on top of the mechanism and made a simple control rod connection impossible. So I made a do-dad to bring the control point down next to the retract mechanism linkage. Works OK too.

Scott brought the Oscar to the subregatta this morning. Let me just say that there were some who needed to scrape their jaws off the ground. This boat is a show stopper. Simply stunning work . We need to get Brads V's typhoon to Scott's workshop so it can get a real weather job.
