Induction masts, Schnorchel, direction finder and below the control room. I also started to lay out the lower structure: drinking and waste water tanks, storage and ammo compartments and below the regulating tanks.

Slowly coming together. Added the vent valve for the central ballast tank, the exhaust line to the Schnorchel mast and more detail in the regulating ballast tank...

        Excellent work and detail.

Working on the Schnorchel drive. An air motor drives via a bevel gear a reversing gearbox (modeled after a Volvo Penta gearbox). After latter, another bevel gear drives the shaft to the Schnorchel gear. In between a chain drive for manual operation in case of failure of the air motor...took me while.

I believe the torpedoes were loaded from the outside. With that in mind, would it still look the same on the inside as other subs that loaded the torpedoes from the inside?
Other than thinking out loud, Love the work you are doing on this.
                  Peace,
                  Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Here's a rare picture of the inside of a Type XXIII. The toredo tubes were taken from canceled VIIc boat builts. So exactly the same like on other German boats. But you are right. Tehy were loaded from outside....
