Amazing work. The many hours put into the CAD model really shows. Can’t wait to see more.

Still designing the Type XXIII interior. Putting the finishing touches on the ventilation ducts and the ventilation manifold for the batteries. During charging the batteries produced hydrogen that had to be removed by the ventilation system. So there were four tubes running above the battery cells that collected the hydrogen though tiny tubes that were connected to the collection tubes. Tedious work....

Thanks very much for posting the step by step progress on your CAD and 3D printed model interior. The level of research and effort that has gone into this project si very impressive.
Indeed one of the thing's of I've found very satisfying with CAD work is translating drawings, photos and often a bit of guesswork into a 3 dimensional model. As you note this often this takes a few iterations to get it right.
Out of curiosity what CAD software are you using?Comment

Type XXIII submarine: That was a complicated one.....the cable pull mechanism of the periscope. The periscope was raised and lowered by a cable winch in the control room. The cable ran over various pulleys to the periscope. Intricate arrangement under the roof of the conning tower.

Working on the deep bilge pump of the Type XXIII. It was made by Klein, Schanzlin & Becker (KSB) an to my knowlege it was a two cylinder double-action piston pump with cross heads. With respect to how it looked....few information on that side. Tried to get info from KSB, but no answer. I know that in the stren room of the type XXI the same type of pump was installed, so I took it from there....I guess it's close but becomes guesswork in the lower parts.

Progress on the Type XXIII submarine galley. Added the activated-charcoal filter for the fresh water faucet right to the sink and the respective piping. Additional work on the ventilation ducts and detail work on the electrically heated pot. Getting there.....
