. Bill Bibeault Bronco Type XXIII Build

One more Bronco Type XXIIIBuild, however before anyone reads this build of the U-2326,they must read Tom Chalfant, Manfred, David, and Bob Martin’s build of a type XXIII.
They are the Master, submarine modelers builders. If you Google Type XXIII you will find several more, but none as good as this group of Builders.
I have an edited copy of Tom build, sent me your email address and I will send you a PDF of it.

    Bill,
I can simply say that anything I have done well, it is because of the gentlemen here that have guided me. As David put it to me, we stand on the shoulders of those that have gone before us. You are in a great location for support, kick in the pants, and friendship. Welcome andI am really looking forward to your build. Ask away with questions.
    Peace,
    Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

There will be more photos of the real U-2326 as this build goes along, with some history.
A little history from the great Uboat.Net
The U-boat War in World War Two (Kriegsmarine, 1939-1945) and World War One (Kaiserliche Marine, 1914-1918) and the Allied efforts to counter the threat. Over 40.000 pages on the officers, the boats, technology and the Allied efforts to counter the U-boat threat.

      U-2326
      Type XXIII
      Ordered 20 Sep 1943
Laid down 8 May 1944 Deutsche Werft AG, Hamburg (werk 480)
      Launched 17 Jul 1944
Commissioned 10 Aug 1944 Oblt. Karl Jobst
      Commanders
      11 Aug 1944 - 14 May 1945 Oblt. Karl Jobst
      Career
      2 patrols
      10 Aug 1944 - 14 Aug 1944 4. Flottille (training)
      15 Aug 1944 - 31 Jan 1945 32. Flottille (training)
      1 Feb 1945 - 8 May 1945 11. Flottille (active service)
Successes No ships sunk or damaged
Fate Surrendered at Dundee, Scotland on 14 May 1945.
      Post war information.
Became the British submarine N 35. Transferred to France in 1946. Sank 6 Dec 1946 at Toulon in an accident. Many sources claim she was raised and broken up but the French never raise warships sunk with loss of life as they are regarded as military graves.

Some of the goals and equipment for the U-2326
            Goals
The first goal is to have it in the water in the spring of 2019, here in Ga.
The U-2326 will be mine “learn how to sail boat”. Not a lot of scale details. My next build or one after the next build, will be a load with scale build at 1/48 scale U-505. 65 inches long.
(Frames being made as we write)
This must be a fun build, and a learning build, for the U-505.
And a 3d printer model the Nautilus, also around 65 inches, files being worked on as we write.
One more goal, how to paint a U-boat, and to add a camera
            Bill

I got my Bronco kit from Hunter up in NY, and what a great bye it was. I got the 1/35 fit kit with it , and it is great
Unable to upload photo of the paper work, will have to work on that . But this is the name on it
1/35 Bronco Type XXIII Fitting Kit Product Code T23FK.
It seems that I can not up load any of the photos that I took with my cell will play with that later today.
But I removed the walls inside the hulls much like Tom did in his 2013 build

A WTC stands for Water Tight Cylinder or Container. A SD stands for Sub-Driver which is registered just for David Merriman’’’’s WTC. All SDs are WTCs, but not all WTCs are SDs (that almost sounds like fortune cookie wisdom huh?)
