What's the best way to transport model kits like this?

I saw one in a store in Munich Germany and will be flying back to the Philippines on Monday.

Transport an unbuilt and fully boxed model kit? Ship it.

You can also check it as oversized baggage on an airline, but check to ensure that is the case. I'd be sure to wrap the heck out of it with plastic wrap. Some airlines offer stations for wrapping large suitcases or boxes in plastic wrap. Might be cheaper than shipping.

Got home last night. Just unpacked my suitcases this morning. Inspected everything for damages. A little piece broke off. Luckily I found it wedged in the suitcase's zipper. Click image for larger version

ID:	178500 Nothing a little Tamiya Extra Thin cement can't fix.

I also managed to bring the box cover home. Had to flatten it out and fold it. I'll just make a new bottom half to hold the pieces in. Click image for larger version
