    Moebius Seaview Fixed Vanes

HWSNBN, regarding the fixed vanes in the Seaview propulsors, as your fitting kits are hard to acquire these days, I guess a piece of plastic card makes a good alternative but can one just use the movable stern dive planes and set them at a down angle when at neutral to counter the nosedive phenomenon of the Seaview when running? Nope. The 'neutral' position of the stern planes is as you see in the photo. This is their position with the boat at a zero pitch-angle and the stern plane servo centered.

From the pictures it appears that neutral is at a slight rise angle, not down. This will tend to hold her nose up as she proceeds through her mission.

Correct sir. Needed to counter the shovel-nosed SEAVIEW from plowing down at any significant submerged speed.

When I said angled down I was referring to the position of the leading edge of the diveplane. I realize now that when we talk about diveplanes position we alway pertain to the trailing edge.

Looking back at the photo I do see that the trailing edge of the stern plane (red line) is above the horizontal pivot (green line). Click image for larger version Name:	Seaview stern planes.jpg Views:	0 Size:	54.2 KB ID:	172154
