If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Correct. Give the man a cigar! In 1/96 scale it will be 293 mm long. Just big enough to play with in the bath. (As the actress said to the Bishop).

Finally got started on this build. It will great fun in the bath tub but not much use anywhere else.

Any idea if the 2" Kilo SD will fit inside this?

Nope. The internal diameter will be around 46mm so a 2" SD will be too big; a 1.25" SD will fit nicely however.

The foam has been shaped (in a rough kinda way) and glassed with two layers of woven cloth. Once its dried I'll sand it down and fill in the dents.Click image for larger version

Will this be a dynamic or static diver?
                            How about a 1.5 " SD?

I'm thinking static diving 1.5 will be very thigh and probably very short - in the order of 4.5" where as a 1.25" SD can be 7.5" long. I started on the appendages today. This is the ridder and upper support.
