Interested in how you'll make the stern planes operational within that narrow stern cone. With the rudder you could go with an external control rod. With the stern planes it'll be tight.

How about fixed stern planes with operational bow planes?

I'm going to have about 1/4" ID where the control rod for the stern panes enters the body of the sub - that's more than enough. (on the Japanese Type A I had less than 1/8" and it worked quite well). I'm thinking of making them full flying so that I have some control; with the separation line running parallel with the hull, through the line of the original stern plane. The bow planes will also be operational as will the masts.

Fixed stern planes and operational fore planes is also a very good idea and I might come back to that if it all goes to ****.

In the middle of the fill, sand, fill, sand, swear, fill, sand cycle. Its beginning to look like a Piranha but lots more sanding to do.Click image for larger version

Why do I suddenly have a craving for a corn dog?

Ha ha. No doubt that should be the NATO reporting name for something.

That's an interesting impeller- looks like a metal washer...

What's the inside diameter of the nozzle?

CORN DOG RISING! Engaging in appendage play. Soooooo much fun. I'm also making a jig to ensure that the damn things go on straight as well.Click image for larger version

Is this a one off or will you be making muliple hulls?

Probably make a few of these. I'm using it for practice. The last one was OK but pretty clunky. I'd like this one to be a bit more refined - hence the small size; not too much to get overtaken by.
