Check out Hobbyterra.com for Modelsvit. List price but free shipping if you meet the minimum. A friend of mine has ordered from them before and recommends them. They state it is a one piece composite hull so don't know if it is a candidate for an R/C sub.Comment

Think the hull is a solid piece. Look here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/i...144-modelsvit/Make it simple, make strong, make it work!Comment

However, Mr. Caswell has been itching to put his big vacuforming machine to good use -- if the hull is unusable and he can work a purchase of just the appendages from this outfit, and we produce vacuformed hull pieces, we might be able to cobble together a marketable kit.
That's right, Pete: if we can keep the wall thickness on the hull to under 3/32", then a 2" SAS subdriver (the 212 unit is a shoe-in) would fit just fine.
Mike and me need straight answers about that hull though before we start spending his money.

David,
You familiar with D & E Miniatures? Maybe it's something like their 1/192 resin Sturgeon and Los Angeles class SSNs.Last edited by redboat219; 03-26-2015, 01:14 PM.Make it simple, make strong, make it work!Comment

Yeah ... I vaguely remember this little rinki-dink outfit called D&E Miniatures. A husband and wife team If I remember correctly, he was a lazy, no-account, hack; she was a Filipino super-model or something like that. Whatever happened to those two?
