I am going to restore the shark build blog! Please go to page 3 where I will restore my photos and carry on with the build.

Looks like the files from CG Trader from the guy in the Netherlands who ripped off my design. He acknowledged he got the idea from me. I can't complain. He found the void and filled it.
I am, however, working on production of my RC shark kit with a partner overseas. Hoping for updates soon. -

Bob,
I certainly hope this is not a problem for you that I have used his files (I found them on Cults) If posting this build up on Nautilus Drydocks is a problem, I will cancel my build blog out right now! I take exception to your statement that he ripped you off You put your YouTube build out there for everyone to see! He did acknowledge he got the design from your photos and went from there! It's a case of "should a would a" on your part!

By ripped off, I simply mean he took my design and engineered solutions used it for profit on his side. That's a bit sketchy in my opinion. I'd be way more open to this having happened if he was sharing the files for free.
That will teach me to share my projects in such detail in the future, I guess...Comment

David has always shared his work in details. If you want you can list yours for sale at a comparative price or offer it for free. If this is not your files in any way, then it is flattering that he was inspired by you.
it is kinda a pi$$er though.Last edited by trout; 10-20-2024, 02:32 PM.If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.Comment

Rob,
regarding the number of prop blades, sometimes less is more as David found out when he was building the waterjets for the Moebius Seaview. He experimented with 2, 3, 4 abd 5 bladed versions and found that 2 blades were more efficient, consumed less power and less load for the motor.Last edited by redboat219; 10-22-2024, 11:08 PM.Make it simple, make strong, make it work!Comment

We had a great Divertible get together this afternoon, and I picked up some really great ideas from the group. I am still considering building the shark to scale. My Old Dremel 3D40 3D printed to give up the ghost and stop working. I am considering a printer with a much larger build plate so that I can achieve that goal. It's all challenging, and most of all fun....

Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on this 3D printer as you use it. I am leaning to Bambu, but I do not have a driving reason at this moment in my life to pull the trigger. The larger printing plate is going to be a lot of fun to use! Thank you for your postings.
