Anyone Have A Fittings Kit For A Bronco XXIII?

Looking for the Dave Merriman kit. If so, PM me please.

scarce as hen’s teeth. I had to buy someone’s WIP Type XXIII to just get the fittings… and I didn’t get them all.

Casey, on the last Dive Tribe, Bob mentioned he has the tooling from David to make the parts in the fittings kit for the Bronco and more, but someone needs to step up and take the tooling and learn how to make the parts, plastic and metal parts. It's not something anyone was willing to do. Especially for older kits that are beginning to be hard to find.

I will some day be building my XXIII, but not anytime soon, without the fittings kit. I'll be scratch building whatever parts are needed that were in the kit. Should be easy enough to do.

Maybe someone with a 3D printer can fabricate you some. Or like Steve Neill, scratchbuilt his own Type 23 conversion fittings.

They have a new home now. Probably never to be used.

The Type XXII is my next 3D Print Project. I have contacted Danny Engelhardt with Maximus. He has the fittings. I will update his response when/if I hear from him as to wether he will sell the files or fittings to us. If I design them myself I will share them. I wish Randy Sanders would design Type XXIII STL's thru Bob.

I had that fittings kit and used it in my Bronco kit. The best part was the rear section to hold the prop. Some parts were less helpful (e.g. the crew) and I couldn't get the bits to hold the hull together to stick at all. Tried everything but they constantly broke off. I ruined about 3 Bronco kits in the process trying to get the hull cut in half and fit, but gave up eventually. That's when I decided not to do a plastic kit conversion ever again and instead 3D print stuff going forward. Never looked back.

Vertical cuts might be better, using bayonet rings. If anyone has the Bronco Kit and wants to send the fittings to me I can 3D replicate them. I have the Kit on order, but will be forever till I get it.

The finished product. Just before the 2028 SubFest event:
