The Holland is a long ongoing side project. The torpedo tube and its intricate interlock mechanisms is a project of it's own. My understanding is, that one opened the torpedo hatch by cranking it open via thread rod and at the same time compressing ait in a cylinder. Opening the hatch also actuated a lever mechanism, that interlocked the breech door from opening. Then you could open the firing lever guard, which also actuated a safety valve, preventing the accidental firing of the tube. Flooding of the tube was done via two valves, the levers of which also interlocked the breech door from opening. Complicated stuff and I still miss information....anyone with some documents about whitehead torpedo tubes?

Working on the plumbing.....I'm currently designing the water piping. The arrangement is based on the John Lambert plans, which are quite detailed about the section in blue, but as I'm missing a true piping plan, most hoses will end in the nowhere. Does anyone have more information about the water and air piping in the HMS Holland 1?
