Sorry Casey! This is not the Holland Build!
progress update on the SM UC 5 U-BOAT. As you can see, I still have one more upper hull section to complete. (Which is printing as I write) I do have all the accessories (in the jars) completed. I am currently waiting on the acrylic 2.5" X 24" tube which will serve as the WTC for this boat.

Update on the SM UC 5 U-Boat!
I have completed all the 3D printing of the hull sections.
The 2.5" OD X 2.25" ID Acrylic 24" tube has arrived that I will be using for the WTC. The boat is 36" overall length with a 3.50" Beam.
I am just in the finishing stage on the Holland 1, then I can start on the SM UC 5 build up.

I have finally completed the HMS Holland 1 (Except for final finish work) So now I can pick up where I left of with the SM UC 5 U-Boat!
Everything is 3D printed and ready to go together. I am going to get the hull glued together and then start on the 2.5" WTC, design and fabricate (3D print) the components required for that portion of the build!

I have made some head way on the UC 5 U-Boat build.
I finished up the hull section glue up and cut the 2.5" WTC tube.
The above photo shows the upper and lower hull sections and the WTC tube inside the lower hull!

This hobby is and has been really good for me Bob! It totally challenges the creative mind and I love it! The main reason I get up each morning is my wife first and the hobby second, and with the hobby comes the great people on this forum and of course the Dive Tribe. And I think a lot of people on this forum feel the same way!

HI Gantu,
I got the STL files for the SM UC 5 U-Boat on CGTrader! I went into the search engine using "RC Submarines" and it popped up as the first submarine on the page. The files were put up by "Karlu" he did a great job with the files.

Gantu,
Thank you for the great photo! When the time come for doing the detail work that photo will be helpful!
SM UC-5 was a German Type UC I minelayer submarine or U-boat in the German Imperial Navy during World War I. The U-boat had been ordered by November 1914 and was launched on 13 June 1915. She was commissioned into the German Imperial Navy on 19 June 1915 as SM UC-5. She served in World War I under the command of Herbert Pustkuchen and Ulrich Mohrbutter.
I also found this video that gives a little history on the boat.
