I just found and ordered the last Bronco (edited) Type XXIII on Amazon. Maybe one day I’ll find a WTC for it. Guess I’ll put it on a shelf until then.

There are a couple of dedicated Type XXIII conversion kits that I'm aware of. Maximus Modellbau in German has new version of the conversion kit with a 70mm WTC which uses a peristalic pump and bag type ballast tank. R&R Engineering in the UK also has a new 70mm with a pumped tank (snorkel) and provision to use the forward planes of the model.👍 1Comment

The 2.5" MSD is out of production. I will have a new 3" SubDriver released in the next week or so. I've also hooked up with Ron Perrot to offer his 70 and 80mm units while my own is under development. Those should be arriving in the coming weeks once he fulfills my stocking order.

They're very well regarded here in the UK.
Have you considered stocking the Aquabat? Pretty decent starter boat and a good fun boat for the more experienced.Comment

The “dreaded” long horizontal cut is the all around better way to go. Just my two cents.

You still have to make a new cut in the hull with the Maximus Modellbau system. It would’ve been better if the system was designed to use the existing hull split. Also it the system provides no separate control option for the forward planes. The system is also designed to control the rudder with external linkage. That’s cheating.

Check out this video. The gentleman used the factory break in the hull with a slight mod.https://youtu.be/dwpT6FzhrZI“Of the 40,000 men who served on German submarines, 30,000 never returned.”Comment
